Christmas came early to the Annandale on Wednesday December 7th 2011. OFF! were in town on their first ever Australian tour and featured a living legend in that of Keith Morris (Black Flag / Circle Jerks) on vocals. Playing a style very reminiscent of the first Black Flag 7 inch “Nervous Breakdown”, OFF! really are a breath of fresh air into the hardcore punk scene. Was pretty amazing to witness punk rock royalty on stage in front of you.
Finally after a Soundwave festival appearance, a Manning Bar sideshow then a Foo Fighters arena tour, like most Fucked Up fans I was beginning to think I’d never get the chance to see this band in a small room, an atmosphere that best suits their stage persona and music. While it felt bizarre to be walking into Kinselas in Kings Cross of all places to see Fucked Up, the wait to see them finally play a small room was well worth it, as they tore through an hour and 20 min set of classics.
This was one of those stupid, “no flash allowed, you can only shoot the first three songs” kinda deals, but I’ve learn’t to embrace these challenges of late.

Late October and I headed up the Central Coast to Avoca Beach to shoot a wedding for some friends Melissa and Riley. Was an amazing venue set in the foothills that overlooked Avoca Beach, so naturally that was where we headed afterward to shoot some pics. The weather was picture perfect and it was a great celebration to capture. Below are some of the highlights.
So in late October, I was asked to shoot the Resist Records Christmas photos that were intended to be used for a Christmas card, as well as a poster for the Resistmas show at the Annandale Hotel. Being a member of the Resist team, this meant I also had to set the photo up to be shot remotely by bouncing a couple of flashes off the roof.
We roped in Annadale Hotel manager Dan to pose as Santa Claus and Dani sourced the amazing Christmas-themed, wool jumpers. Despite it being a relatively cool day, we were all sweating it up big time under those jumpers. The photos turned out pretty funny and worked perfectly for what Graham and Dani had in mind.
Below are a few leftover pics, as well as the final poster for the show.
ShotPointBlank reformed to play a final show in Sydney on Friday October 14th at the Bald Faced Stag hotel. Took a few pics of a POV perspective of a sing along, got my ear split open by the shoe of a random stage diver, but yet still went home happy.
Below are a few pics from the show.
